Scope of the Role
The Insurance Product Head will drive the strategic development, performance, and lifecycle management of Life, Health, and General Insurance products across the organization. This role is responsible for designing competitive product propositions, ensuring regulatory alignment, evaluating product performance, and supporting the business with data-driven insights. A key responsibility is to conceptualize, plan, and execute national-level insurance campaigns—including acquisition, cross-sell, upsell initiatives, and combined insurance campaigns—ensuring alignment with business objectives and partner strategies. The role collaborates closely with sales leadership, project team ,insurer partners, operations, analytics, and marketing teams to optimize product visibility, strengthen distribution capability, and achieve overall business growth.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities 1. Product Strategy & Development *. Lead end-to-end lifecycle management of Life, Health, and General Insurance products. *. Drive product innovation based on market trends, competition mapping, and customer insights. *. Collaborate with insurer partners on product structure, pricing, and positioning. *. Ensure compliance with IRDAI guidelines and internal governance processes.
2. Collaboration with Insurance Project Team *. Work closely with the Insurance Project Team to define and implement product-related system requirements. *. Ensure timely delivery of product launches, system enhancements, workflow updates, and campaign enablement. *. Coordinate testing, UAT validation, process documentation, and change management. *. Align project timelines with business priorities to ensure seamless execution of new products and campaigns. *. Monitor operational readiness and resolve system or process issues impacting business. *. Campaign Strategy, Planning & Execution
• Design and execute end-to-end campaigns such as cross-sell, upsell, PRM/RM engagements, and combined Life/Health/GI campaigns. • Define campaign objectives, target segments, offers, and success metrics. • Coordinate with insurer partners, sales teams, and marketing for campaign rollout. • Monitor performance through daily/weekly dashboards, review ROI, and recommend improvements.
4. Business Performance Management • Track sales performance, persistency, product mix, and profitability. • Analyse channel-wise and region-wise product performance. • Develop strategies to improve conversion ratios and business productivity. • Present key insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
5. Stakeholder & Partner Management • Work with insurer partners for product approvals, campaign planning, joint business reviews, and performance improvement. • Partner with Sales Leadership to drive penetration across branches, regions, and channels. • Collaborate with Operations, Compliance, Marketing, and Analytics teams to support product and campaign delivery.
6. Training & Channel Enablement • Create product notes, process documents, and sales enablement materials. • Conduct product and campaign training sessions for PRMs, RMs, zonal teams, and branch staff. • Strengthen product confidence and customer pitch capabilities across all teams.
7. Governance, Compliance & Reporting • Ensure adherence to IRDAI and internal compliance standards. • Publish product-wise and campaign-wise MIS, dashboards, and leadership reports. • Maintain strong governance on documentation, processes, and audit readiness.

Educational Qualification • Graduate/Postgraduate in Finance, Insurance, or related field. • Insurance certifications (e.g., Licentiate, Associate, Fellowship, or equivalent) preferred.
